Smok RPM 40 Review | Vapor Empire

Smok the brand we all know and have a love hate relationship with has brought us the new RPM 40 pod mod. Convenience is what they have given us, a kit that is all encompassing, ready for any vaper to pick up and use on a daily basis. Why, you may ask? It can do just about everything, MTL, DL, RBA, salt nic, and sub ohm. The RPM feels great it, looks great, and from my experience it’s built solid as a rock.

Let’s jump into the features on this cuboid pod mod from Smok. The real pod mod is a sleek and portable device introduced in imitation carbon fiber or resin panels depending on the color combination you choose. Equipped with a 0.96” TFT screen backed by the IQ-R chip set, you will be able to see your settings and battery level with ease. The built in 1500mAh battery charged via a micro USB cable, will keep you vaping all day, eliminating the need to carry spare batteries or purchase a stand-alone charger. There are two side-fill pods that can sit on top of the RPM 40: the Nord pod (Nord coil compatible), and the RPM pod (RPM coil compatible). Both pods have a large mouthpiece and excellent airflow and can be used with sub-ohm or salt nicotine e-juice. The holes located on the top sides of the RPM are used for both air-flow and checking your juice but I find them to be too small to get a good look at how much juice I have left. To properly see how much juice is in the pod I need to pull the pod out, not a big deal but inconvenient and can lead to accidental dry hits, which we all know are the worst. The RPM 40 has all the protections you would expect in a safe vaping device: overheat, short circuit, low voltage, and an 8 second cut off. The cut off prevents damage to yourself or your belongings if you accidentally fire the device in your pocket or purse for an extended amount of time.

I find this device to be very enjoyable overall, I’ve tried it with salt nic as well as sub ohm and it delivers as expected. No spit back, no leaks, and it no noticeable heat from the pod after vaping. Even though the designs are imitations to the real materials, they are made well. Unless you look very closely won’t notice you’re looking at imitation resin or carbon fiber. One of my favorite features of this device is the RPM 40 RBA coil (purchased separately) as I generally prefer to build my coils. The build deck is small but not difficult to build on, and being able to rewick your coils keeps your wallet happy. The beautiful display, large airflow, and the range of options the RPM 40 gives is why I rate it 4.5 out of 5. It’s very easy to use and is sure to be a top pick for quite a while.
